Every child loves a good birthday party! With an afternoon filled with games, food, prizes and of course, loot bags. Although the birthday girl or boy gets most of the ‘loot’ every child looks forward to going home with their own bag of goodies to enjoy.

From gold chocolate coins to yo-yos to a fun set of stickers, here’s how to build a loot bag that everyone will get excited about.

Toys

Puzzles, mini-games and other toys can be a great addition to a loot bag, and can provide hours of entertainment for children of all ages. Card games can also be included in these bags, along with small Sudoku, crossword or word find books. An assortment of these can be found from your local dollar store.

Stickers

Both boys and girls of all ages love stickers! If the birthday party had a theme to it, such as princess or Hot Wheels, you can include stickers of the same sort of theme. Many stickers also come with books; parents may appreciate the fact you have given the children a place to put them, as opposed to their bedroom walls or furniture.

Pencils/Pens

These can also be matched to the theme of the party. Pencil crayons, highlighters and crayons would also be great additions to the loot bags. If there is a holiday coming up, such as Halloween or Christmas, you could include these as well. Don’t forget about the erasers!

Candy and chocolate

Lollipops, gold chocolate coins, ring pops, and other goodies can be included in your loot bags. While every child loves a good treat, this shouldn’t make up the majority of items you put in.

With a bit of planning, you can have a birthday party that your child and his/her guests will remember long after the party is over.
